Great suite of tools for SEO professionals and agencies

What they like: The automated reports that can be customized are so helpful. We run in-depth reports for our internal team and then send monthly reports for the client that show the most important insights. This way they are not inundated with unnecessary reporting and only see the high level overview of what is most important for people without SEO knowledge to understand; their rankings and visibility! This is also a very easy to use system with way more documentation and resources available. What they dislike: I would like to see a better way to group keyword rankings on reports so we can give statistics on primary keywords, secondary, etc. Most agencies add additional, harder to achieve keywords after the first year but you really need to give more value to achieving first page rankings on those keywords than the branded ones they may already be ranking for. It would help us show the work we've done and its value rather then grouping them all together.

Simple. Powerful, Valuable

What they like: I've been using Moz Pro for more than a decade. It's the simplest SEO tool that I've used. Other tools I have used include Screaming Frog and SEMRush. I'll note that I'm not a technical SEO -- I've always relied on dev resources for that. For what I need, however, Moz is perfect. It helps me optimize every page of my website based on data, provides excellent tracking and reporting, helps with link building, and makes it easy to identify and fix crawl errors. Setup is a breeze, so you can get up and running in a short amount of time. What they dislike: The only thing I'd say I dislike about Moz Pro is its application to technical SEO. That's not something I personally use it for, but I know that tools like SEMRush and Screaming Frog have more niche functionality that goes beyond that of Moz.

A Solid, User-Friendly SEO Platform for Marketers

What they like: What I appreciate most about Moz Pro is its comprehensive, all-in-one approach to SEO, wrapped in a user-friendly interface. For someone who needs a single tool to manage multiple aspects of their SEO strategy, Moz Pro is a great solution. The standout features for me are the Keyword Explorer, the Site Crawl, and the Link Explorer. The Keyword Explorer is intuitive and provides clear, actionable metrics like keyword difficulty and search volume. The new AI-powered features that group keywords by search intent are particularly useful, helping me quickly identify and target high-value phrases. This saves a lot of time that would otherwise be spent manually sorting through data. The Site Crawl tool is another huge plus. It automatically audits my website, flags technical SEO issues, and, most importantly, gives clear, prioritized recommendations on how to fix them. This is a game-changer, especially for a small team, as it removes the guesswork from technical SEO. The ability to re-crawl a site on demand to confirm a fix has been implemented is also a very welcome feature. Finally, the Link Explorer, which has been a core part of Moz for years, is excellent for backlink analysis. It's a reliable way to monitor my own link profile, check for lost links, and, with the Link Intersect tool, find new link-building opportunities by seeing who links to my competitors but not to me. What they dislike: While Moz Pro is a powerful tool, it does have some limitations that can be frustrating, especially for more advanced or large-scale users. My biggest frustration is with the data depth and update frequency. The keyword database, while good, often feels smaller compared to some competitors, which can make it challenging to find long-tail keywords in very niche industries. Additionally, the data can sometimes be slower to update, making real-time campaign performance analysis difficult. While the interface is generally user-friendly, some of the reporting limits on the lower-tier plans can be quite strict. For a growing website, it's easy to hit the page crawl or keyword report limits, which can force an upgrade sooner than anticipated.

Moz has powered my business for over a decade

What they like: I use Moz Pro every single day in my SEO agency. Great for explaining completed or upcoming works to clients, particularly On-Page Grader reports for demonstrating improvements in content relevancy on a given keyword. Campaign tracking also helpful, particularly for catering to client-requested keyword lists. Lots of great backlink analysis available to weigh up and demonstrate value of placements to clients. Overall, a very comprehensive suite of tools that serves me well for all SEO clients, particularly when combined with Google Search Console and Analytics data. What they dislike: Keyword Checker tool can't be used in bulk. Every keyword has to be entered manually, which is frustrating.

Moz Pro. The better way to SEO

What they like: Moz Pro provides weekly reports on the performance of my website, offering insights such as broken links and other SEO related metrics. I specifically mention broken links because, for those less familiar with search engine optimization, they can significantly impact organic rankings. When a page contains links to external resources that become inactive-often due to the source being removed or an organization discontinuing the URL - Google’s search algorithms may interpret the site as less reliable. This can gradually result in a drop in search visibility and rankings. Maintaining updated, working links is crucial to preserving your site's credibility and authority in the eyes of search engines. What they dislike: Overall, I don't have anything negative to say about Moz Pro.

MOZ is an essential SEO tool

What they like: Moz is a great tool for the occasional or daily user relative to SEO and site performance. We use it daily to check crawls for any site warnings, keyword ranking and page recommendations. There is also an ability to see a competitive view and address backlinks. Using Moz to identify irrelevant and spamy backlinks took little effort and we were able to disavow them quickly and this helped improve our domain authority by 2 points. I like that it is an easy tool to use for people that aren't SEO experts and it provide guidance to improve your site and your SEO knowledge. What they dislike: I wish I could look at more competitors within a campaign, there is a limit of 3 and I would like 10. I would also like to suppress certain subdomains.

Very good all-around SEO tool

What they like: Great tools for competitive research. Tools to examine your site for technical issues are nice as well. SEO and keyword search tools are robust and easy to use, much easier to use than the free Google tools. The training tools are top-notch, best in class. Very intuitive interface. What they dislike: The tools that show issues with your web page need more depth and better explanation. Some of the issues it finds are very obscure and I need to Google the issue to determine if it's something to care about. Needs a "I don't care about this specific issue, so please ignore it from now on" tag.

Good product with very simple intro for SEO

What they like: It's simplicity and it's course for SEO. I made keyword research really easy and the initial success manager call, that taught us how to use the product was very useful. I also liked the interface very much although it does seem basic after using a competitors product for a while now. The product was easy too impliment and all connectors with things like Google Search Console worked quickly and easily. What they dislike: It lacks the same level of reporting detail and tools that it's competitors have. It's also a pretty expensive tool considering it does the same thing as it's competitors.

Comprehensive, User-Friendly SEO Toolkit for All Levels

What they like: I like how it's pretty robust and comprehensive with all the different tools it pulls together (keyword research, site audits, rank tracking, backlinks report, etc.). I also find it to be pretty user friendly and intuitive to use. Easy enough for beginners but robust enough for power users. What they dislike: The keyword database could be improved for finding long-tailed keywords in our niche. But other than that, there's not much I can think of to dislike about Moz Pro.

Great for building campaigns and issue fixing

What they like: Creating campaigns, monitoring keyword rankings vs competitor, keyword research and issue investigating. This is our central monitoring tool and helps us understand how sections of website are working as they are focused on separate audiences. The keywords list feature is great, you keep an eye on key keyword topics and how they are performing. Also, integrating GA gives a great view of traffic performance. Key competitors can be monitored and your targeting and the featured snippets tool helps find opportunities. The on-page grader is great just to check your new pages are on-topic and optimized. What they dislike: All of our linking domains are not tracked, however we have 3m+ links from various domains. We have to use search console data to find links we are worried about.

Moz is an excelelnt tool for any SEO strategy

What they like: Moz provides a great user-interface that we often take screenshots of and include in client reports (e.g. keyword difficulty visuals). In the past, I've had to reformat or even recreate some basic visual information to have something polished enough to be client facing. Additionally, I like that they have wrapped Local Search tools into the main platform as it save from having to have a separate Local Search tool. What they dislike: I think that the number of campaigns at the lower price tier is a little wanting. While these packages are likely aimed at smaller organizations, 5 campaigns is very restrictive. I also think that the keyword limit for each campaign should be higher. If you are wanting to build out a robust long tail strategy within a campaign you run out pretty quickly.

Essential for SEO

What they like: Moz has built a product that is essential for doing SEO. I honestly can't imagine working without it. Moz puts all the metrics you need to track in one place: traffic, keywords, links, website health, and on-page grades. Moz was just updated with Moz Analytics which makes this even better by presenting actionable opportunities to you. For example, it will now call out if there are pages that rank 8-12 in the SERPs but have low on-page grades. These are pages that can easily be improved to rank higher. Also, it looks a lot nicer. What they dislike: Crawl dates are hard to predict as sometimes Moz does quick crawls or long crawls. It may take a long time to measure results of campaigns.
