Moz vs Mangools: Mangools is simpler and has a free plan, Moz adds site crawls and a bigger link index

By Jean Luc Poitier, SEO and growth marketing strategist · Moz Reviews · Updated October 5, 2026

Quick verdict

Mangools is the easier and cheaper choice for keyword research and basic rank tracking. It has a free plan, a full refund within 48 hours of payment, and much higher review scores than Moz. Freelancers, bloggers, and small sites should start there.

Moz Pro covers more of the SEO job. Standard ($99 a month) adds site crawls of 400,000 pages a month, 150 tracked AI prompts, and Domain Authority, and Moz claims a link index of 40 trillion+ links against Mangools' 9.5 trillion. Pick Moz if you audit sites or report on them for clients.

Moz vs Mangools pricing and what each plan includes

The monthly entry price is the same: $49 for Moz Pro Starter (one person, one website) and $49 for Mangools Basic without AI Search Watcher. The gap opens on the next tier and on yearly billing. Moz Standard is $99 a month, or $79 billed yearly. The Mangools Basic bundle with AI Search Watcher is $61 a month, or $452.40 a year ($37.70 a month).

The quotas point in different directions. Mangools Basic allows 100 keyword lookups every 24 hours, while Moz Standard allows 150 keyword queries a month. Moz Standard tracks 300 keywords to Mangools Basic's 200, and adds 5,000 backlink queries and 400,000 crawled pages a month. Mangools is the better deal for heavy keyword research; Moz covers more ground per plan. See Moz pricing for every tier.

Where Moz goes further than Mangools: site crawls, reports, and AI prompts

Moz Pro includes a site crawler that flags technical issues, with 400,000 pages a month on Standard. Reviewers in our corpus name site crawl and client reports among the reasons they use Moz:

“The 500 and 404 reports are very helpful on a very large site that is ever changing and updated by many.”James B., G2, December 2023

Moz also publishes its AI prompt tracking quotas (150 prompts on Standard, 300 on Medium, 600 on Large, across GPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode, and Perplexity), and Medium adds branded reports. Mangools bundles AI Search Watcher with its SEO tools, and we found no prompt quotas on its pricing page. Moz's Domain Authority score and its learning resources are two more reasons reviewers stay.

Trustpilot labels each review invited or unprompted. Invited reviews are a small sample for both (16 for Moz averaging 5.0, 7 for Mangools averaging 4.71) and say little. The unprompted reviews tell the story: 4.81 from 43 for Mangools, 1.29 from 34 for Moz. Mangools reviewers keep returning to price and ease of use:

“Mangools "suite" is very practical, cheap and data is clean.”Loïc JULIEN, Trustpilot, April 2026

Moz's unprompted reviews are mostly about trial charges and refused refunds, which we cover on Is Moz legit. If you try Moz Pro, cancel before day 7 unless you want the $179 Medium plan; the cancellation steps are short.
