Moz vs SE Ranking: Moz costs less to start, SE Ranking tracks rankings daily and rates higher
By Jean Luc Poitier, SEO and growth marketing strategist · Moz Reviews · Updated October 5, 2026
Moz Pro costs less to get in the door: $49 a month for one site, or $99 for Standard, against $129 for SE Ranking Core. Moz also has Domain Authority, the larger link index by each company's own count, and a deep library of SEO learning material.
SE Ranking gives more for the money once you track many keywords. Core updates 2,000 keywords daily across 10 projects, while Moz Pro updates weekly. SE Ranking also has a 14-day trial with no card, and it rates higher than Moz on G2 and on Trustpilot. If daily rank tracking for clients is your main job, pick SE Ranking.

Figures checked against each company's published pages and review-platform listings as of 2026-10-05. “Not published” means the company does not publish that figure.
Trustpilot rows use each company's 50 most recent reviews that are about the product, split by Trustpilot's own invited and unprompted labels. Moz: March 2025 to July 2026. SE Ranking: December 18, 2025 to October 2, 2026. Keyword and link figures are each vendor's own claims and are counted in different ways.
Moz vs SE Ranking pricing: what $99 and $129 buy
Moz Pro Starter at $49 a month is the cheapest way into either product, but it covers one person and one website. Most buyers compare Moz Standard at $99 a month with SE Ranking Core at $129. Standard gives you 3 sites, 300 tracked keywords, 150 tracked AI prompts, and 400,000 crawled pages a month. Core gives you 10 projects, 2,000 tracked keywords, and 100 AI prompts a day.
So Moz has the lower bill, and SE Ranking has the bigger quotas for tracking. Paid yearly, Moz Standard is $79 a month and SE Ranking Core is $103.20. Extra seats cost from $16 on SE Ranking and $49 a month per user on Moz. Our Moz pricing breakdown covers the Medium and Large plans.
Rank tracking: weekly in Moz Pro, daily in SE Ranking
Moz's help center says Moz Pro rankings come with weekly updates. Moz sells daily tracking through STAT, its enterprise rank tracker, from $360 a month for 3,000 keywords. SE Ranking updates daily on its entry plan. For an agency that reports rankings to clients each week, Moz is enough. For anyone who watches daily movement after a site change or an algorithm update, SE Ranking does this for less.
Moz vs SE Ranking link data and Domain Authority
Moz says Link Explorer covers 40 trillion+ links. SE Ranking says it has 2.9 trillion backlinks and 411 million referring domains. These are each company's own claims, counted their own way, but the gap is large. Moz also created Domain Authority, which many SEOs and link sellers still use as a shorthand for site strength, and reviewers in our corpus praise its DA and PA metrics along with Moz's guides and courses.
The trade-off reviewers raise is that Moz's keyword and link data feel smaller than Ahrefs or Semrush. If that matters to you, see Moz vs Ahrefs and Moz vs Semrush.
Moz vs SE Ranking reviews, like for like
SE Ranking rates higher. On G2 it has 4.7 from 1,608 reviews, against 4.3 from 608 for Moz Pro. Its Trustpilot TrustScore is 4.2 from 711 reviews, against 2.4 from 242 for Moz.
Trustpilot marks each review as invited by the company or written unprompted. Invited reviews sit near the top of the scale for both: 5.0 for Moz from 16 reviews and 4.83 for SE Ranking from 29, too close and too small to separate them. Unprompted reviews are where the gap shows. Moz averages 1.29 from 34 and SE Ranking 2.29 from 21. Most of Moz's unprompted reviews describe trial charges and refused refunds, which our Is Moz legit page covers. SE Ranking reviewers often mention value:
“I think you get just as much as you do with the more expensive tools, but for 1/3 of the price.”Megan Bright, Trustpilot, August 2026
If you try Moz Pro, read the Moz free trial guide first and cancel before day 7 if it isn't a fit. The steps are in how to cancel Moz.
